What's Involved

I’m interested - but what am I letting myself in for?

The structure of Remap is fairly informal. Members take on tasks when the job fits in with their skills, equipment and time. Some people will do jobs almost every week, others with more specialist skills perhaps only every year, most are between these extremes.

We are looking for two broad areas of involvement, firstly the electronic and software/firmware skills which will allow us to produce more aids involving control systems and electronics.

Secondly we want people who can help us with Web skills to let us improve our information presentation both internally within our organisation and externally so that more people can find out about us and use our services.

If there is one rule it is that once you have taken on a job it becomes your responsibility. You must either complete it or make sure you pass it to someone else. We are about doing things, not just thinking about doing them, and our clients rely upon us not to let them down.

Only you know how much time and skill you can afford to give us, and we would appreciate that time whether it is minutes or days. I expect this new Panel to have some members who might do few jobs but whose skill is nonetheless invaluable. Unlike normal Panels we won’t physically meet up regularly but will do our business via the Internet and phone. Indeed one of our first needs for volunteers is to help getting this side of things set up.

If you have any questions please use the Bulletin Board or e-mail or phone - details are on the Contact Us page.
