We need volunteers for our Internet Panel

The membership of most Remap Panels is made up mainly from mechanical engineers, that’s the way Remap started and will continue as most of our projects involve making mechanical items for people. Some of the things we have done in the past are shown here. We also produce a yearbook listing many of our projects and you can download a pdf file of the last few years projects from our Projects page.

However, some of the people who approach us could benefit from electronic or software aids and local Panels don’t always have the expertise to take on these tasks - that’s where this new group will come in. 

Remap Internet wants to offer a variety of skills mainly in the electronic, firmware and software fields to directly benefit clients.

We also want to help with development of use of the Internet by Remap as a whole so that people can get to know about Remap as a whole more easily and so we can share the wealth of knowledge within Panels more effectively than we are at the moment.

When I said this was a new Panel I really meant it - we started at the beginning of 2008. If you think you can help us please get in touch. If your skills are not ones I’ve listed but you think you could do something useful - get in touch. If you can solve problems, produce solutions and help us with these tasks we want you.  

As well as engineers and technicians we would welcome anyone with a medical background and an interest in solving problems. Occupational Therapists, Nurses, Doctors, Medical Technicians. If you can think and can solve problems and want to help others we would like to hear from you.

We also need people with Web skills, especially in site management, bulletin boards, blogs and graphic design..

Involvement

This group is going to be entirely Internet based so one essential prerequisite is that you have adequate web access to take part. ((Any webmasters with conferencing skills out there!!).)

If you join us how much time you spend is quite flexible. You can take on jobs as and when you wish and are able to do them. 

However, once you take on a job involving something for a client you must do it more or less within the time you promise or make sure you hand it on to someone else. If you don’t it is our clients who suffer. 

Initially our efforts are going to be very much on getting up and running and showing other Remap Panels what we can do for them
